Jolloyard — Account & Data Deletion

This page explains how to request deletion of your Jolloyard account and the associated data, which data is deleted, and which limited records we retain (in anonymised form) and for how long.

How to Delete Your Account in the App

You can delete your Jolloyard account directly from the mobile app at any time:

  • Open the Jolloyard app and sign in
  • Go to the Profile tab
  • Tap “Personal details”
  • Tap “Edit”
  • Scroll down and tap “Delete account permanently”
  • In the “Delete account permanently?” prompt, tap “Delete”
Deleting your account is permanent. You will be signed out and will lose access to your bookings, listings, messages, and saved details.

Request Deletion by Email

If you can't access the app, you can request deletion by email. Send a message from the email address registered on your Jolloyard account so we can verify it's you:

  • Email support@jolloyard.com from your registered email address
  • Use the subject line “Delete my account”
  • Include the name and phone number on your account
We action verified deletion requests within 30 days and confirm by email once complete.

What Data Is Deleted

When your account is deleted, we permanently remove or anonymise your personal information, including:

  • Your name and contact details (email address, phone number)
  • Your profile photo and uploaded images
  • Your identity / verification documents (e.g. NIN, passport)
  • Your saved addresses
  • Your account login credentials
  • Your provider profile and service listings (if you are a provider)
Your email address is released on deletion, so you are free to register a new account with the same email in the future.

What We Keep, and For How Long

For legal, financial, security, and dispute-resolution reasons, we retain a limited set of records in anonymised form (no longer linked to your identity) after deletion:

  • Transaction records (bookings, payments, payouts, commissions) — retained for a minimum of 6 years to comply with Nigerian financial regulations
  • Dispute and “Report a problem” records — retained for up to 2 years to support safety and dispute resolution
  • Records we are legally required to keep, or that are needed to detect and prevent fraud and abuse
These retained records are stripped of your personal identifiers and are not used to contact or identify you. They are permanently deleted once their retention period ends.

Active Bookings

If you have active bookings when you delete your account, they are cancelled as part of the deletion, and any eligible refunds are processed according to our cancellation and refund policy.
